Find Low Cost and High Quality Textured Berber Carpet

Textured Berber carpet is known for its versatility, durability and affordable cost in many residential and commercial flooring applications.  Berber refers to the loop style of carpet, and can come in many different fibers, from brand name manufacturers or off brand name versions.  Branded textured Berber carpet is known to provide many advantages over non-branded carpet, and you don’t have to break the bank for high quality, long lasting Berber carpet.
The most common type of textured Berber carpet used in residential settings is made from nylon fibers, providing durability to maintain its shape even in high traffic areas.  Shaw is recognized for superior carpet and flooring products, manufacturing a high-quality nylon Berber carpet with R2X soil and stain resistance.  Mohawk manufactures a quality Berber carpet with Wear-dated technology, providing extraordinary stain resistance, outperforming generic nylon Berber carpets every time.
Nylon Berber carpet also maintains its shape for many years as it is very resistant to showing footprints or experiencing a crushed look.  Berber carpet is very resistant to staining especially from a treated brand name product line, providing easy clean up making it ideal in high traffic areas or children’s rooms.

Best Value for Carpet Flooring Costs near Chicago

When evaluating carpet flooring costs for your next home or office improvement, be sure to speak with a carpet and flooring expert to understand your options with numerous flooring products available.  There are a few important factors that affect the price of carpet flooring, whether in a residential or commercial flooring environment.  The type of carpet is obviously the biggest factor that determines the cost, but the padding is also an important consideration, along with the ease of installation.
Carpet flooring cost will vary by style and texture, with synthetic and natural fibers available to offer a wide range of carpet types.  Wool carpet is made of natural fibers, and can be very luxurious and soft but will typically cost more than synthetic fiber carpets.  Wool carpeting will often last for twenty to thirty years, however, providing long lasting value with this very durable type of carpet.
Synthetic fibers include nylon, olefin or polyester and are very common types of carpet chosen for many residential carpet installations.  Berber is a typical loop carpet style, and is quite durable and affordable.  Frieze carpet is a twisted pile ideal in busy areas and is popular in commercial flooring applications.  Saxony or plush carpet is luxurious and a fits well in formal areas such as dining rooms, although plush carpeting is more likely to show footprints and is not quite as durable as some other carpet types.
No matter the type or style of carpet that you choose, in order to get the most value from your carpet flooring cost, you should speak with a carpet and flooring specialist to understand all your options.  There may be a type of carpet that would work perfectly for your installation that you may not be aware of.  Once you decide the type and style, it is equally important to purchase a well-known brand name to be sure you get the best value.  Not all carpet is made the same, and you might be sorry if you go with the cheapest price only to find out it needs to be replaced much sooner than anticipated.
The type of carpet padding you choose can make all the difference between soft, cushiony comfort that will last for years, or carpet that wears out and must be replaced sooner.  As with any type of flooring installation, a tricky installation in tight spaces or unique architectural designs may cost a little more than a standard rectangle room.
For answers to all your questions regarding carpet types, padding and installation, speak with the professional and friendly carpet specialists at Great Western Flooring.  We have been exceeding customer expectations with artistic and skilled carpet and flooring installations for more than 35 years.  We have the widest selection of brand name carpet from high quality manufacturers such as Mohawk and Shaw, at prices you can afford.

If you want something to hold up well in a high traffic area, you need a fiber that will not lose its shape with continuous vacuuming.  Nylon is a very durable carpet fiber that holds up well in commercial flooring installations.  Well-known brand names like Shaw offer waterproof and stain resistant carpet that would hold up well in children’s rooms, play areas or rooms with pets.

Know Your Options with Carpet Textures

With the vast many choices of carpet textures and fibers available today, you should know your options and the various properties to be satisfied with your carpet installation.   Carpeting can be made from either synthetic or natural sources, each with various characteristics and benefits.
Speaking with an experienced flooring and carpet company about your environment, and the main advantages desired from your new carpet will provide the greatest benefit to you.
Texture can be referred to as Loop Pile, Cut Pile, or a combined sculpted Loop, with Cut Pile being the most common carpet texture for residential carpet installations with a very versatile and durable construction.   Various textures and plush carpeting are used throughout residential and commercial settings providing casual comfort, and long lasting durability.

Styles of Carpet

Plush or Texture Carpet

Texture and Plush carpeting is comforting and casual, providing great style and versatility in many residential settings.

Frieze Carpet Texture

Frieze carpet is a newer style, which is in the family of the shag, with twisted fibers but toned down, providing resistance to foot print wear and tear, and holds up well between vacuum cleanings.

Sculpted, Patterned and Level-Cut Loop Carpet Texture

This type of carpet texture is a combination of cut-pile and loop-pile, forming a unique design.  This sculpted texture is becoming popular with patterns and designs ranging from a traditional floral look to contemporary styles.  This style wears better than a Loop-pile with a lower loop construction.

Loop-Pile Carpet Texture

A Loop-pile construction can create varying textures by varying the size of the loop, they can wear well with a compact, tight design.   This texture can be casual, with some designs popular in a formal environment.  A Berber style of carpet is a loop style with colored flecks throughout.

Saxony Carpet Texture

The Saxony carpet style is ideal in formal dining room and living room settings providing a very luxurious look.  This refined cut-pile carpet texture gives a velvety feel to refined environments.

A Quick Reference Guide to the Various Types of Carpet

When deciding upon the best wall-to-wall carpeting for your home, there are a number of materials to consider. Each has its benefits and disadvantages. Here is a quick rundown on the most common types and some suggestions for purchasing the best one for both your aesthetic tastes and your functional needs:
Wool Wool was one of the original floor carpets and is still widely used in homes today. Although a little pricey, it does afford an exceptional feel under your feet, cleans up well and is naturally fire-retardant. In addition, wool is an all natural material that is hypo-allergenic and environmentally friendly.
NylonSince nylon is one of the hardest of all synthetic fibers, it is exceptionally resilient and durable. In fact, a nylon carpet will usually last longer than one made from any other type of fiber – natural or synthetic – under similar circumstances. While nylon is easy to clean, unfortunately it also stains quite easily and should be chemically treated for stain resistance before installation.
OlefinMore technically known as polypropylene, this synthetic fiber is renowned for its colorfastness, stain resistance and affordability. It is extremely resistant to exposure to sunlight, water and harsh chemicals making it ideal for indoor/outdoor applications such as spas, pool houses and basements.
PolyesterThis fiber is certainly the most affordable from a short-term perspective and is quite comfortable to walk on. Unfortunately, these benefits are negated to some extent by the inability of polyester carpeting to withstand any significant amount of wear and tear. It is best used in low traffic areas such as extra bedrooms.
These are just four of the more generic terms for carpeting available to the 21st century homeowner. There are literally thousands of other carpet types. For more information on them and on choosing the right type of carpet for your home, please contact us at Great Western Flooring. Where Berber Carpeting Works Best in a Home

Since time immemorial, handwoven Berber carpets have graced the homes of the rich and famous. These days, however, the mass-produced versions of this durable carpet have become so affordable that they can be used in the most modest of homes. In fact, its versatility makes it an ideal choice for a wide variety of applications in a residential setting. Here are three of the more common spaces where it is especially useful:
In hallways – Manufactured from the most modern materials – nylon and olefin most common – and with its loop pile construction, the latest generation of Berber carpets can withstand an enormous amount of wear and tear. In addition, the finished carpet is coated in high-tech polymers that significantly withstand staining. For this reason, Berber carpet can be used in hallways, entryways and even mud rooms.
In the breakfast nook – As mentioned, the coatings on a Berber carpet are quite stain resistant but not actually stain proof. In fact, no manufacturer can guarantee the latter. Still, Berber carpets that are maintained properly and cleaned up promptly will withstand stains to a greater degree than ones manufactured from natural materials like wool. So, if you want to forego tile in your breakfast nook for a different look and warmer feel, try Berber carpet.
In the great room - This particular space in the home offers a multitude of challenges. It will be used extensively, food and drink will be spilled, and the carpet will still be expected to last a long time as well as provide a feeling of comfort for both the family and guests. No carpet other than Berber can be expected to perform well in this particular environment. Plush carpet will show the stains, shag will get tangled and cut loop will not hold up to the traffic.
For more specific information on the advantages of using Berber carpeting in your home or other flooring options, please contact us at Great Western Flooring. We can be found online at www.greatwesternflooring.com or reached directly at 630-357-3331.

Understanding the Basics of Textured Carpeting

By most ordinary folks, textured carpets are referred to by a variety of names - plush, Saxony and sculptured to name just a few. Though all are referring to textured carpets, there are some essential differences that a person should know about before buying one of these carpets. With that thought in mind, here is a concise guide for understanding the basics of textured carpeting:
Pile height – This factor is fairly self-explanatory. The length of the fibers - the pile height - can run from very short to very long. The first type is usually referred to as plush and will show shoe marks and vacuum cleaner lines, but offers a very elegant look. The latter is often known as shag and is ideal for dens and other rooms where the atmosphere is more relaxed and has a little more high traffic.
Pile density – Also referred to as face weight, this attribute refers to how much actual fiber is contained per square yard in the carpet. The tightest - that is, the most dense - weaves are quite elegant but require almost constant maintenance to look their best while less dense varieties are more suitable for areas that will receive a lot of use but little care.
Pile color – Textured carpet comes in a wide variety of solid colors but can also be found in bi- or multi-colored fleck tones. There is no reason to settle for second best when it comes to this factor. In fact, you can even have a textured carpet dyed to your exact color specifications.
