Casabella Novocore WPC Flooring

Casabella Novocore WPC flooring is the new generation of vinyl, waterproof flooring products which provides many benefits to consumers in residential or commercial installations.  Vinyl flooring has evolved significantly with major advancements in flooring manufacturing technology, revolutionizing how we think of vinyl flooring.  WPC is a type of luxury vinyl plank flooring which mimics real wood planks while providing several added benefits.

WPC stands for wood-plastic-composite, although some refer to it as water-proof-core, due to the most advantageous benefit of being 100% waterproof.  This makes Casabella WPC flooring an ideal choice for room where you desire a wood look, but real hardwood would not be a good choice.  Room such as laundry rooms or bathrooms which may be exposed to water make hardwood a poor choice due to the expense of product, installation and repairs when water damage occurs.

People Always Ask, “Is WPC Waterproof”?

One of the most common questions that people ask about wood plastic composite flooring (wpc) is if WPC is waterproof.  WPC is becoming one of the most popular types of flooring products and for good reason.  WPC flooring offers many benefits to homeowners and commercial property owners alike, with most people wanting to know about the durability, long lasting beauty and water resistance characteristics.

While WPC stands for wood-plastic-composite, there is not much actual wood in the material but rather a composite material which is more stable and rigid than wood.  This enhanced material provides many benefits over natural wood such as increased durability as it will not scratch or stain like real hardwood, it is more stable in that it will not contract and expand like hardwood and WPC flooring offers water resistance, and in some cases, waterproof flooring.

Some LVP and LVT Vinyl Flooring is WPC Water Resistant

WPC flooring is typically referred to as luxury vinyl plank (LVP), luxury vinyl tile (LVT) or waterproof vinyl flooring.  WPC offers some advantages over laminate flooring in that WPC is typically waterproof and is ideal in some installations where laminate should not be used.  WPC is a better choice in room that may be exposed to moisture such as bathrooms or basements.

WPC flooring also contains an added layer of cushion to provide a little more cushion over laminate which reduces noise for a quieter floor.  Not all LVT is WPC, with the water resistance characteristic being the biggest difference.   WPC can often be laid directly on top of most subfloors with little preparation as the rigid core of WPC flooring allows for wider and longer formatting options.  WPC can be simple to install with a little preparation and can be laid over divots or minor cracks in the subfloor.

With the many options of style, texture and color, vinyl tile that looks like wood is a great way to get the most bang for your buck with a spectacular looking floor at a great value.  Vinyl tile flooring provides many benefits with simple DIY installation making it easy to create your own unique design.

How is WPC Different from LVT?

WPC, or wood plastic composite, is a form of luxury vinyl tile, LVT, but not all LVT is WPC. Lots of acronyms to say that WPC is a specialty product type of luxury vinyl tile, offering additional benefits such as water-resistant material. Luxury vinyl tile typically includes multiple layers consisting of a thick durable underlayment, a tough wear layer, image layer displaying realistic looks of wood or stone and a textured surface.  Not all LVT is manufactured the same, however, and there is quite a difference between quality made LVT or LVP (luxury vinyl planks) and poorly made material.

WPC is often times referred to as waterproof core, which is one of the main benefits of WPC flooring.  This quality makes WPC quite desirable for homeowners looking to install a new floor in rooms which may be exposed to moisture such as kitchens, bathrooms, mud rooms and basements.  It’s the waterproof core that makes WPC flooring such a stable product, which means it will not contract or expand when exposed to climate or humidity changes.

WPC is a popular choice for any room in the house and also in commercial properties.  When comparing WPC vs LVT, consider the temperature and climate of the room in question, and also the wear and tear it will take.  Both WPC and LVT are quite durable in either residential or commercial applications, offering much bang for your buck with long lasting, resilient flooring that keeps on performing year after year.

Both WPC and LVT offer a durable floor requiring low maintenance.  With the modern technology used by floor manufacturers today, it is difficult to tell the difference between natural hardwood and luxury vinyl tile.  LVT and WPC flooring will not succumb to scratches and stains like hardwood, and is much easier to maintain.
